BABE came to us as a referral through the livestock inspector. A complaint was filed against the former owner, who surrendered Babe into our care. Babe is a grade (QH type) mare and she is around 25 years old. She is also in need of some serious TLC as you can see in the pictures above.

Babe had a very busy day today. First the farrier came out to give her a trim. She is a little sore, but walking much better than before. Our vet was also out to pull the coggins and float her teeth. Babe is doing extremely well. She's gained a LOT of weight and feeling so much better. Her feet are still bothering her, but she is receiving regular trims and improving slowly. It is easier for her to walk and she can even run, buck and play at times.

Babe is available for placement into permanent foster care. Babe is not riding sound, in fact we don't even know if she is broke to ride. She didn't seem to know much of anything when she first came to us and is, even now, sometimes a little hard to lead. She needs an experienced, patient handler since she gets easily scared, especially when confronted with new things. Must stay close by and most have at least one other horse for company.
