CALLING ALL ANGELS

Soon, we will be adding two new members to our heavenly herd. Before we release our boys into your custody, there are a few things I would like you to know to help you better care for Shiloh and Liberty.

Liberty prefers the company of horses and is not that fond of people. He enjoys a scratch and hug, but would much rather spend his time playing with his horse buddies. He loves to run and buck, which he is no longer able to do. But I know he will be restored to health once he arrives at Rainbow Bridge. Please, let him have many friends who will run and play with him. I am sure he was a magnificent, proud horse in his days. Life has taken its toll on his body, but not his spirit. He has many scars and the arthritis has painfully crippled him, yet he is still gorgeous and he knows it, too. I can only imagine what he will look like restored to his former glory. His spirits are high and he may not be ready to go, but it is getting so hard for him to get up or even move around. Let him run free and enjoy his new found health. You will be awed by his grace, power and beauty when you watch him play...

Shiloh will make the perfect partner for any little angel. He loves people and nothing ever upsets him. Even though I know he must be in pain, he never shows it. Cancer has ruined his once gorgeous face and striking blue eyes. I know he will be pain free soon and will be able to see again. Please appoint a special angel to care for him. He needs his daily brushings, lots of hugs and kisses and treats. He loves to go on trail rides. But it can't be more than about one hour. Then he gets anxious and wants to go home. He never spooks and will go where you point him as long as you make sure you are on your way home after one hour. He hasn't been able to go out for a couple of months now and I know he misses the rides. Please let him have his first ride as soon as possible. Every night before he goes to bed, he needs a hug, kiss and a couple of pieces of horse candy. He will wait for you and nicker to you when he sees you walking up. He enjoys it when you talk to him. He will fall asleep when you do, but don't be fooled ... he hears every word and understands.

Shiloh and Liberty will each carry a piece of my heart with them, tugged away safely within their own hearts. It's the only thing I can give them to take when they go. We weren't allowed enough time with the boys, which makes me a little resentful. I know I am not supposed to question the decisions made up high above, but I don't understand why you need Shiloh and Liberty so soon after taking Buttercup and Frosty. However, I am grateful for the time we had and will remember every moment we spent together.
But at the same time I am so very angry. I am angry at that stable guy for not providing any medical treatment to Shiloh and for waiting so long to call us. Maybe, just maybe if we had gotten Shiloh sooner, we could have really helped him. I am angry at Shiloh's previous owner for dumping him at auction and thereby condemning him to the sad life at this stable, without enough food or any kind of care. Shiloh deserved so much better than that! Why did his owners not care enough about what happened to him? I am angry that Liberty was forced to make this 6 hour trip to us while in horrible pain. His suffering should have been ended, instead of sending him away... I am angry that once again, I have to be the one holding 2 very special animals while their lives are ended. Angry that I'll be the only one crying …
My heart is breaking as the last remaining hours tick away. I want time to stand still, I want everything to stop, I don't want tomorrow to come, because tomorrow will be such a hard, sad day … a day I’d hoped would not come for a long, long time…

Please have an angel waiting for Shiloh and Liberty to arrive and help them adjust to their new surroundings. Make sure they both get their senior feed twice a day. They love their food warm and soaked. I would appreciate it if you could give lots of hugs and kisses every day and remind them both of how much we love them. We did all we could for Shiloh and Liberty and are now turning over their daily care to all the angels above.
