The *Wish Upon A Star Foster Program* is a new program, established to help our older and/or disabled equines find permanent homes. As a participant in this program, you get to enjoy the company of a very special horse or donkey with the added bonus of receiving a receipt for your expenses. In general, most of these animals are not riding sound, but some might be okay for very light riding. All have special needs and are looking for a loving home to spend the rest of their lives loved and well cared for
Wish upon a star foster home participants must agree to pay all of the animals expenses and to provide the best care possible. But different from the permanent placement program, all expenses paid are considered donations and are tax-deductible. Permanent foster homes must keep accurate records of all expenses. These records must be send to Perfect Harmony at the end of each month. A receipt for the donations will then be sent to the permanent foster home at the end of the year. Regular updates, including pictures and a yearly vet statement are required. Full ownership of animals placed into permanent foster homes remains with Perfect Harmony. Since a long transport is not in the best interest of these special animals, foster homes must be within a 3 hour driving distance.
Please consider participating in this program. Older horses are the most wonderful pets and teachers. You'll help us free up space and much needed funds to continue helping animals in need, while enjoying the love and happiness an older animal can bring into your life.
